Baptism by Forest
I asked to receive abundance, abundance of love and magic. I quickly learned that I already am. I am receiving abundance.
We of the Mountain Retreat went into the woods of the French Alps, where each step contains worlds. My senses were flooded with the music and vibration of life. The mosses and mountains, the leaves dripping with rain, the wreckage of a recent avalanche. There in the wake of the avalanche, we witnessed the tenacity of life, pushing through, even delaying its natural cycles of growth to accommodate the disaster.
I was struck by the subterfuge, patience and divine timing of life delayed by destruction. This is abundance received. With full reception comes awe. Speechlessness. I was all ears and nose and eyes. There is only listening when in the presence of abundance. Listening with my entire organism.
We soak it up, let it wash over us, let ourselves be swept up in it, as we are simultaneously rooted along with the trees. Let ourselves be anointed by it.
I am still trying to make sense of it, too much sense would be to contain the magic of it, the fullness of the experience. But for now, I know this: I was baptized by forest, so that I can come out into the ordinary to touch others, to remind others that a magnificent life is possible. In fact, it is already here, all around us, beneath our feet.
Watch your step. You might be crushing the very thing you've been seeking.
